Ishita Sharma is a renowned film and TV actress, having worked in films like ‘Loins Of Punjab Presents’, ‘Dil Dosti Etc.’, ‘Dulha Mil Gaya’ and TV series ‘Kuch Toh Log Kahenge’ and ‘Dance India Dance’ (as a host). She currently continues her acting interest being involved in theatre.
Founder of Aamad and a prolific Kathak dancer, Ishita has trained under the able tutelage of Sangeet Kala Ratna awardee Pandita Uma Dogra. With over a decade of experience under her belt, Ishita has performed at prestigious festivals like the Mudra Festival, Kahajuraho Dance Festival and National Programme of Dance on Doordarshan.
Aside from dance and acting, Ishita is trained to be a mental health professional, having a bachelors degree in Psychology, M.Sc. in Human Development, and work experience as a counsellor, in the Psychiatric ward of a charitable hospital.
She has a keen interest in martial-arts and education, and that combined with her counselling skills led her to launch the ‘MukkaMaar’ campaign in 2016, to empower lesser-privileged girls with free self-defence training.
